Day 9: Picture Challenge

{A picture of the person who has gotten your through the most}
My mom. She has always been there for me through my hard times and good. She's always there when I need someone to talk to or cheer me up. I feel bad that I have put her and my dad through so much but I'm so grateful for them for always loving me.

Day 7: Picture Challenge

{A picture of your most treasure item}
My wedding ring. We picked out a few different types together and then Cody surprised me with this one! I absolutely love it. It's so different than other people's rings. I think it's beautiful but I also love what it represents- our promise to be together forever and always remain true to each other. I love you Code :)

My New Vanity!

Um...Remember this old sewing desk that I got at The D.I. for $20? Well it's finally refinished and is now being used as a vanity along with the $15 chair I found at The D.I.! Take a look how we did it step by step.

First we took off all the hardware and seat on the chair. Then we sanded all the old lacquer off of the table and the chair using 150 grit sandpaper.

Next I sprayed all of the old hardware with Krylon spray paint.

After cleaning off the sawdust we primed all of the surfaces using Kilz primer. We used the spray to do the detailed surfaces and the chair and we used a smooth roller to do the big smooth surfaces (like that top and sides).

Kilz primer for the desk/chair and Krylon spray paint used for the hardware.

I found a scratched up mirror on clearance at Ross for $15. I sanded out the scratches (even though it is a plastic frame it worked) then taped, primed, and painted the mirror while I was waiting for the desk primer to dry.

After the primer dried we were able to put the paint on. We put 2-3 coats on and waited inbetween coats for it to dry. Again, we used a smooth roller for the big surfaces and we sprayed the paint on the detailed surfaces. We waiting until the next day to put the lacquer on. We used the Rustoleum brand clear coat.

After the paint was done I used Modge Podge and regular scrapbook paper to do the inide of the drawers. The paper was 12x12 but not quite long enough so I cut an extra strip to do along the back. I cute the paper to the right size, brushed a coat of Modge Podge on the bottom, smoothed the paper out on top then put a layer of Modge Podge on top of the paper.

The finished products! The fabric on the seat I bought at Hancock Fabrics. I used a staple gun and just wrapped the fabric around the existing seat/old fabric and stapled it in place. Once that was complete and the chair was painted we were able to screw the seat back into place.
I hope you like it as much as I do!

Day 6: Picture Challenge

Day 5: Picture Challenge

{A picture of your favorite memory}
The first year Cody and I were married we lived in "The Little White House". It is owned by my Grandma and it was first built in the 40's. She used to live in it and many many other people have rented it from my grandparents ever since. She was nice enough to let us live there for a great deal after we got married. It is about 450 square feet, but has everything you need. Livingroom, Kitchen, Bathroom, Pantry/Laundry Room. They has redone the whole interior right before we moved in. I have so many fun memeories from this place! BBQ's, fires with s'mores in the back yard, badmitton, decorating, our first Christmas, handwashing dishes, borrowing my grandma's vaccum, parties in the tiny livingroom, learning how to cook and be a wife, being creative with ways to make all of our stuff fit. There are so many fun memories I have from the place! I'm so grateful that my Grandma let us live there but it's also so nice to have our own place right now that is twice as big.

Day 3: Picture Challenge

{A picture of the cast from your favorite show}Dexter! This show is about a man who works to solve cases of serial killers for the government. The catch is that he is a serial killer but only kills bad people. It's definately not for those who get offended by language though- so beware.

Day 2: Picture Challenge

{A picture of someone that you've been closest to the longest}Cozette and I have been best friends forever and known each other since I was 1. She grew up across the street and down a couple of houses from me. We've definately had our ups and downs but we always get through them. I can't imagine what my life would have been without her!

Day 1: Picture Challenge

This is the most recent picture that I could find of myself... I am definately not in any state to take a picture today :)

  1. My name is Krista Michelle Frampton. My parents just liked the name Krista and they named me Michelle because they had a friend with that name and they really liked her.

  2. I have an extra bone in my thumbs and probably my feet (this happens in about 1% of people the doctors said)

  3. I'm in the nursing program at UVU. After I finish my semester this December I will be able to test to have my RN.

  4. I LOVE old people... I want open an assisted living center with Cody one day.

  5. I HATE skittles. Don't you dare breathe on me after eating them or eat them in the same car as me.

  6. I had braces twice, the second time was when I was in 11th grade and it was horrible!

  7. My parents wouldn't let me color my hair growing up, until I was 17... I have been coloring it ever since and have done everything from black to blonde.

  8. I love decorating and being crafty.

  9. I want boy-girl twins one day (I think).

  10. I am a bit of a hypochondriac.

  11. I started dating my husband when I was a senior in highschool. He knew I was 18 but didn't know I was still in highschool.

  12. I would rather it be blazing hot than have snow on the ground.

  13. My favorite stores are Ross, Target, Downeast, and Hobby Lobby.

  14. I would love to live in Tennessee someday (I fell in love with it when I went there last summer) but I'm afraid that we would miss our families too much.

  15. I'm a "Your" and "You're" nazi.
