It's that wonderful time of year

I thought it was time to put up the pictures I promised of our "little white house". There's only a few pictures because, well, this is about our whole house. The only thing I didn't photograph is our bathroom, laundry room, and pantry (which is all is one pretty much) but here is the rest of the house!

Our Christmas stockings and Nutcrackers. (Cody may be a little bitter about how much the stockings cost, but they are CUTE!)

Take little notice of the makeshift ribbon and tree skirt. Haha

Me "fluffing" our tree. Finally we got the right tree, 6 stores later and purchasing and returning 2 other trees.

Cody hanging our lights

The finished result. They look great! (I wish the picture turned out better)

Take Your Grandma to Wal-Mart Day

Excuse me.

I don't know if you know this, but today was take your grandma to Wal-Mart day.

I wish someone would have informed me of this before I did my monthly grocery shopping today so I could have taken my grandma.

Everywhere I turned there were little old ladies. In electric wheelchairs, in non-motorized wheelchairs, pushing shopping carts... EVERYWHERE.

Most of them were with their daughters or their grandaughters or grandsons. It seemed like most of the family members were in a hurry, rushing here and there to get grandma's molasses and miralax.

The grandmas were so cute, trying to remember what exactly they had come to the store to get. Glad to get out of their houses, to have something to occupy their minds. Glad to spend time with their family most of all.

You know how most people get all giddy inside when they see new born babies? Well that's the feeling I get when I see grandmas.

Please someone tell me next time it's take your grandma to Wal-Mart day.

Our "Little White House"

This is where Cody and I have been living the past four months since we have been married. It has been known as the "Little White House" for as long as I can remember. We are so lucky to be renting it from my Grandma Monson, she has been so good to us. The house was built in the 1940's and my Grandma lived in it with her three kids while my Grandad was in the war. It use to be one room but then they added a bathroom and another room on it. Now it's a whole 450 square feet! It's perfect for us. Grandma had the whole inside of the house remodeled prior to us moving in. New paint, carpet, windows, doors, fixtures, vinyl, cabinets, hardware, sink, tub, toilet, wardrobe, the whole deal. We live next door to my Grandma and the whole street is full of Monson's so it's been fun to live close to family. Cody and I love our "Little Cottage" (Don't tell Grandma that's what Cody and I call it!)

This was our attempt at a garden this year. We planted 16 onions, 3 tomatoes, jalapenos, cucumber, and a few random things that we didn't know what they were. This was the result of our garden: AKA nothing. It was sad, but I guess you have to water your garden for it to grow on a regular basis. We liked to choose weeks to water it, we weren't so consistent. Then when we missed a week we'd try and make up for it and water it extra (guess that didn't work either), but we like to blame the deer who are constantly in our back yard eating plants. Yup, it wasn't because of our lack of gardening skills... we would have had an excellent garden if it weren't for those dang deer. Next year we'll try again, maybe this time we'll take some tips from Uncle Dave or my Dad. Better luck next time.

Finally time for a post

Here it is, our first blog!! (I have had it for over a month and haven't even written on it) Things are going great Cody and I have been married for almost five months now! It's crazy how time flies. We love our little white house that we rent from my grandma, it's only about 450 square feet but it's perfect for us. Cody's been staying busy working for Puroclean a restoration company that deals with floods, fires, mold, and trauma. He has also been doing vinyl fences on the side. He always has a project going on around the house fixing up something.. it's so cute :)

I have been busy working at Alpine Valley Care Center in pleasant grove as a CNA. I've been there almost two and half years! I love taking care of the old people there.. they're so cute and funny! I have also been going to school doing my pre-nursing, I am applying to the program this week. Cody and I both start up a new semester tomorrow and are so excited (hmm...) but we'll make it through and it'll be worth it once December rolls around.

We'd love to stay in touch and hear from you all! Write us some comments and leave us a link to your blog so that we can keep up!
